The Sun pt I

“The sunshine will illuminate every hidden corner.”

And so it does. The further I study astrology the Sun becomes so much more complex for me. There are so many opportunities for every part of every sign to shine in different ways.

Whether it be through Nakshatras/Lunar Mansions, or the Duads- even any of the planets that aspect the Sun- are worth mentioning.

The Sun is a vibrant depiction of the soul and even then, the moon becomes a reflection of that as well. It becomes the other side of the mirror. Shows a part of the Sun that can only be viewed in quick or vulnerable moments.

For as popular as astrology has gotten I feel like the Sun is so easily overlooked because we like to hyper focus on what doesn’t make us like other Geminis, or other Scorpios.

The only time it seems like people enjoy relating to their Sun signs is when it puts them in a not-so-pleasant light or it gives them “an edge”.

But how can we say that when the Sun is our core and our souls purpose?

As a Libra Sun I’ve always been the first to say I’m not like other Libras because I don’t put too much emphasis on creating harmony for others.

This just isn’t accurate. Every position I’ve held in retail, services, class projects, etc. I make an effort to create harmony; to control the people around me so my day goes by with ease. It’s not that I avoid confrontation, I just get frustrated when I know confrontation can bring about delays, restructuring, and new factors I did not consider beforehand.

So what do we actually know about the Sun?

We know it is our outward expression. Where we become individuals and where we can even show our pride.

Our Sun will always show some sort of exuberance. Of course like any other star in the sky, it’s magnitude (brightness) will vary depending a multitude of factors.

The Sun will also show our resolve, our motivations and ambition.

When talking about the soul and our motivations, we cannot leave out the ego. The Sun will always want to be looked at in different ways, we will always crave recognition and appreciation in a certain light. As we grow into our chart we will find that where we want the most recognition is the theme that will be most consistent in our lives relating to the house.

And because we are our most happiest when we are fulfilling our purpose, the Sun will be inclined to fulfill this “promise”.

It is the planets and the stars that will determine how we will achieve this whether it be with difficulty or with ease.

SUN DOMINANCE

An excess of Sun energy can manifest differently for those who possess it in their charts.

Someone who has many aspects to the Sun, or has many placements in Leo, will come across as very charismatic and doesn’t think twice about putting themselves out there.

They are heavily motivated, optimistic and versatile.

However, even the Sun dominant person has their blind spots.
